Ask To Connect blocks Minecraft Launcher

Hi. I need some help with Minecraft.

I’ve downloaded the latest Minecraft Launcher and with ‘Ask To Connect’ enabled (A feature I really wanted) it fails to connect “Oh no, something went wrong, and we couldn’t connect to Minecraft services”. I have unblocked everything and it still happens. With ‘Click To Block’ it works fine.

I checked the event viewer logs and it blocks \device\harddiskvolume7\minecraft.exe . The volume does not correspond to a physical disk in the system.

I’ve tried to add a rule to manually allow this in Windows Defender and it does nothing. I added C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.4297127D64EC6_1.0.104.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Minecraft.exe and it connects too (checked with Process Monitor and Process Explorer).

Any ideas?

Sorry for the issue.

We will try to reproduce this so we can make changes to GlassWire if necessary.

No problem. Thanks Ken. The workaround is to download the Windows 7/8 launcher and use it instead.
