Recently i was looking through the traffic type and was noticing bitcoin traffic from a game i would usually trust to not mine on my PC. Ken_GlassWire said on this forum that you’re getting the types from an external API, so how likely is it that this was just a false positive? And can i somehow check what the packets were that GW detected as bitcoin traffic or get any more infos when those were sent, etc…
Interesting. Is it a popular known game, or an obscure game that might have some type of miningware built in?
Unfortunately it is actually known that some games actually do mine cryptocurrency for money. This is sometimes called “Cryptojacking”.
Also, our API is not 100% perfect but it’s usually accurate.
It’s possible that it could be a false positive, but it’s always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your PC’s security.
