Excessive disk access by glasswire control service

Occasionally Glasswire control service utilizes all disk resources and prevents any other access to my pc.
Running windows 10 pro 64 bit version 1803 build 17134.407.

Dual core 2.8 g processor with 16 g memory.

Any help correcting this issue would be greatly appreciated

GlassWire’s job is to write down network activity, so it will write to your hard drive kind of like how writing a Word Document will also write to your hard drive.

For most normal computer usage this writing is minimal. However, if you use something like Bittorrent then GlassWire has to work hard to write down all the thousands of hosts you’re connecting to all the time.

If you are using Bittorrent try going to the top left GlassWire menu and choose “Incognito”.

Moving your database to another HD is another option.

To move your database to another HD please create a “glasswire.conf” file in notepad with these two lines only (the lines in quotes):
“# db_file_path=\glasswire.db
db_file_path=d:\glasswire\glasswire.db”

This file should be copied to the c:\programdata\glasswire\service folder
The database path is set to D:\glasswire\ folder in the file sample, but you can change the path to something else.

You should restart the GlassWire service when the file is copied.

Please note we have also had others complain about this in the past and some said they did not use Bittorrent. Later they found they were infected with malware that was connecting to many hosts simultaneously and causing GlassWire to write a lot.
