Would it be possible to stop recording activity for certain apps?
e.g. I don’t need to see Dropbox, Firefox and Chrome usage and connections appearing in the long hosts list when I’m looking for certain URLs.

You can do this with the paid version. Go to the graph/apps then click on the icon of the app you don’t want to record and choose “hide”.
