Looking in Network Scanner I see 5 results.
1 is “Cube” which is my router.
1 is ‘Myphone’ which was last seen 2 days ago on 192.168.8.105
1 is my tablet which is on 192.168.8.106
1 is 'My computer" which is on 192.168.8.107
1 is “Computer” which is on 192.168.8.200
So anything that connects to my WiFi is logged which I absolutely love, but I don’t understand the IP’s. These are not the IP’s I use to access the router, so I assume they are just randomly allocated addresses in order to ID the device that is connected? I’ve never taken any notice of it in the past
However 1 computer is listed as ‘windows’ and 1 is listed as ‘Dell’. I don’t have a Dell computer but I do have a Dell monitor. So why are 2 computers listed? How can I find out which device is the ‘Dell’?
Is this forum monitored at all? Is there a different way to access help?
Hi oristhemoggy
The IP’s are just local LAN and not WAN IP’s The router would by dishing out DHCP addresses. Nothing to worry about.
Or on the Computer you could have set static ip as example.
The Dell monitor might have a Ethernet port and a device connected to it?
You can track down devices by the MAC address as well.
GW does show the MAC address under each ip in the scanner results.
Hope this helps a bit.
