I connect my Huawei phone to the box using wifi.
I launch the scan. The phone is detected.
I turn off the wifi of the phone.
I relaunch the scan. The phone is always detected.
I relaunch the scan. The phone is always detected.

The bluetooth of the phone is off.
There seems to be a problem.
Is it detected under “All” or “Active”?
I will say I’m a very heavy user of this feature and I have not seen this myself, perhaps it’s a misunderstanding with the selection? “All” will show offline devices along with online, so you can see past connected devices.
The phone ended up being removed from the list of active devices.
I use the “Things” feature but with the “Report only new unknown devices” setting, so I hardly ever go to the “Things” screen.
For once I went to the “Things” screen and was surprised at how long it took to get out of the list of active devices.
It may be slow because you have adjusted the scanning. Here is how the default should look:
