Ever since rebooting after this week’s Windows update, I’m unable to open Glasswire. When I do it briefly appears in Task Manager and then disappears. I did an uninstall, reboot, and clean reinstall but get the same thing. It does the same thing if I run it as an admin.
My browser history is keeping Glasswire from opening? To be clear I can download and run the installer, it’s the installed app itself that doesn’t open.
I also wanted to add that nothing in my security is blocking Glasswire or detecting anything else wrong. I also tried all checkboxes when installing and that didn’t work.
I think I see what you mean. I couldn’t open Glasswire to clear any history but at this point a clean install would wipe anything it was doing anyways. I noticed Glasswire didn’t launch after reboot when an updated app wasn’t getting an internet connection nor was I getting the usual “ask to connect” popup so until the clean install and WFW default happened, that and other apps were broken.
Thanks, I had high hopes for this one after seeing that those folders remained after uninstalling, but unfortunately it’s the same behavior. A brief cursor spin and 1 second appearance in task manager, and then nothing else.
There is some talk in another thread of the background service crashing. Might it be that? In which case, installing a slightly older version seems to help.
I don’t see any crash logs, it’s like it doesn’t actually start when I run Glasswire. The people in this thread seem to be getting errors from the Glasswire app about the server crash and that’s farther than I’m getting. I have it installed and it doesn’t run at all.
