Where does GlassWire obtain network info when not running?

Opened the program for the first time in about a week (since trying it earlier when it hit the news), and noticed that network traffic during the week GlassWire was closed is displayed in the timeline.

Where is GlassWire obtaining this network data? Since the application hadn’t been open I was wondering how it was seeing these details.

Edit: I now notice both a background process and service running, would be nice if the app was more transparent about this and gave the option to be completely disabled when desired.

GlassWire gets the network info via a Windows API through our driver. You can put GlassWire in Incognito mode or clear your history to avoid any history, or stop the service if necessary.
