Windows Firewall - how do you decide to block apps etc.?

I recently installed GlassWire and have noticed that periodically I find Windows Services, Applications, or processes blocked with custom rules created by GlassWire in Windows Firewall Advanced Security panel. While I’m really enjoying GlassWire I’m having trouble finding information about what triggers your decision to create a blocking rule. Is there a set of criteria that is used and then the rule is automatically created?

If you can give me some background info I’d greatly appreciate it. Also, if I delete an GW custom rule in Windows Firewall will it potentially be recreated in the future or is there a way to prevent that.

Thanks!

GlassWire relies on the user to make a decision on what to block. We don’t automatically block anything. Are you using the paid “ask to connect” mode or "click to block mode?
