Bios Malware Question

If my Bios has been compromised or I have a rootkit of any kind - wouldn’t I see an IP address that isn’t part of a recognised publisher? If not how can Glasswire help with spotting a Malware of this type, especially if the Malware was in place before purchase, please also consider, buying a new Laptop is not an option!?

If you suspect your bootloader is infected, run a scan with Malwarebytes and see if anything is found. The Anti-Malware Toolkit is useful for getting safe apps to remove malware. If something is found and you really want to be safe, you’d have to format the entire PC and reload the OS from scratch.

If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

Thanks @Tarun, is this the same or better than Tron? I’ve already run Tron.

D

Only Tron I’ve ever heard of is the movies, so I cannot say for sure.

The apps in my software are directly linked to the sources.

Edit: Looked it up and I wouldn’t use TronScript. It runs things like Combofix which should never be used on Windows 10/11 or 8.1 either. It looks like one of those be-all-end-all solutions. It’s far better when you control what you run, not allowing a tool to do it all for you like TronScript does.
