Hello.

Thank You.
If you purchase a licence you can opt out of the telemetry data collection. The free version does however do some of this; not personal files or typing though.
That’s sad. Even a Firewall software spies on You nowadays.
Hi @iNeedSomePrivacy, that’s actually not the case.
We don’t collect personal data, personal files nor typing on the keyboard info.
We ask our users (both, under free or paid license) if they want to share aggregated data about their app bandwidth consumption, to provide insight via our GW Score and Anomaly Detection.
In any case, this is an optional feature that anyone can enable or disable.
Aha. Could You tell me where can I disable it? I can not find it anywhere in the Windows App.
Sure! Settings>Account>Permissions.
I want just to take the chance to highlight our commitment to transparency and privacy.
Best!
Exactly, and as you can see you can decide to let us process App Info only or App Info and Traffic volumes.
Thank You for Your input. Cuz I had it already uninstalled, because of wrong interpretation of some comments and information. I can install it back.
God bless You in Jesus name with the best He has for You.
The fact that there was never a response does not encourage trust!
Hey @GelataWire,
I apologize if there has been some lack of information.
We have nothing to hide and we try our best to answer to our users and foster dialogue, that’s why in 2024 we still keep our forum active
In spite of the effort we allocate, though, there could be messages slipping out of our sight.
If this happens, we always encourage you to reach out to help@glasswire.com, as it’s an easier channel to track, for us.
Just let me know if there is anything more I can assist you with.
Best,
Andrea
Apologies for the misinformation, it was based on my out-of-date knowledge. I am sure a rep previously said opting out of telemetry gathering was not possible for free users, as that was the trade off for using the software for free.
Edit: Found it. But clearly this must have changed in a subsequent release. This does demonstrate how some of these poor decisions are not forgotten by your customers!
