I installed the free version of GW to test it with my anti-virus and even though I block Firefox, GW still allows it to connect to the internet. Should I try the “legacy driver” or something?
Hi johnSmith
No need to try legacy driver. From your screenshot the “Firewall” switch is Off.
You might want to turn it on.
If your anti-virus has a firewall it could have disabled the windows firewall.
Ah yeah, it seems my anti-virus disabled windows defender firewall. I thought I read that GW does not rely on WFW to block traffic… that makes it incompatible with most anti-virus programs out there.
Does Glasswire have its own anti-virus built in? Or is it just assumed that GW users should trust Windows Defender? The price for the Windows version of GW is comparable to other anti-virus programs, and significantly more expensive than the Android Glasswire which is like, $5 a year.
Hi @johnSmith, GlassWire doesn’t have a built-in antivirus but we partnered with VirusTotal. You can create a free account there and connect the two via the VT API key.
Android GlassWire is completely free since April 24: Our Android App is Now Entirely Free! - GlassWire Blog
Hope this helps
