You tell me it’s free, then I am unable to use the firewall, also unable to delete my account.
This firewall was once free.
And now the media simply haven’t updated the information.
Hi @wez, @tnodir, thanks for pointing this out and for the opportunity to clarify.
You’re correct that in recent versions of GlassWire, the ability to block applications through the firewall has been limited to the Premium version. This means managing app-level firewall rules requires a paid subscription
If you’re seeing something in the UI or on our website that suggests this is still available in the free version, that’s valuable feedback and I’d really appreciate a screenshot or the exact location where that wording appears so we can correct it. We want our product descriptions and in-app messaging to be accurate and clear so no one is confused about what features are included in each edition.
Thanks again for bringing this to our attention.
To be fair I often saw people not knowing that GW free is more like a network monitoring tool and not a firewall (since you can’t block) so the description seems to be not good enough for quite some people.
I just took a quick glance at your frontpage (glasswire.com) I see:
Detect hidden threats with GlassWire’s Traffic Monitor and Firewall. Instantly see your current & past network activity. Detect malware, & block badly behaving apps. (free download button right under it).
Further down:
Turn on “Ask to connect” mode to allow or deny new app connections. Without mentioning premium is needed.
So I put it in a nutshell I can understand how people can come to the conlusion that GW is a free firewall (when you don’t look through other menues).
Tldr: Maybe state more clearly what free offers and that paid is needed to have a firewall (that can block software).
I have found this…

It’s under the pricing
Thanks for following up.
We did go through the website and update any reference that suggested the firewall was available in the free version. The pricing page that @GlassWare shared is meant to be the main source of truth for what’s included on our website.
That said, your feedback is valid. If there are still places where the messaging is unclear or could be misleading, that’s on us to improve. I’ll definitely share this feedback with the team so we can review the site more holistically and make sure expectations are set clearly and consistently.
Thanks again for taking the time to flag it.
