Hello,
I’m planning to install and test GlassWire on my Windows 11 machine and would appreciate some clarification before doing so.
I’m particularly interested in understanding how clean the installation and uninstallation process is. Specifically:
-
Can GlassWire be installed and removed without leaving any residual traces on the system?
-
Does the software integrate deeply into the network stack?
-
Are any additional drivers installed as part of the setup?
From what I’ve read, GlassWire is not a standalone firewall but rather works as an extension or interface on top of the built-in Windows Firewall. I’ve also come across information suggesting that after uninstalling GlassWire, it may be necessary to reset the Windows Firewall settings to their defaults.
Could someone please clarify:
-
Is it really necessary to reset the Windows Firewall after uninstalling GlassWire?
-
If so, why is that the case?
-
Does GlassWire modify or interfere with existing firewall rules in a lasting way?
Thanks in advance for your help!
