I’ve been researching GlassWire recently, and it doesn’t seem to have a built-in way to block incoming connections, unlike some free options like Simplewall. From what I understand, GlassWire serves as a simpler way to manage the Windows Firewall rather than acting as a standalone firewall.
My question is, why wouldn’t GlassWire include something as important as blocking incoming connections? Is there a particular reason for this design choice?
You can set it to “Ask To Connect” that auto blocks anything and notifies you of a connection attempt. That is if you have the premium version. I am not sure about the free one. This software isn’t for the average user, but I do think the good out weighs the bad when it comes to making something versatile then following up with a more basic “Switch To Google DNS” toggle comes into play to make things more simple.
Glasswire is only Outbound when used with Windows Firewall you have full Inbound and Outbound protection so you need to have Windows Firewall on as well.
