Can the widget background be made transparent?

A transparent widget background would really improve the visual appeal and make it blend seamlessly with different wallpapers. It’s a small tweak but could make the app feel more polished.

I am on a shared 3Gb mobile data plan and have to pay for overages. So, while I can set alerts for my usage it doesn’t take into account my partners usage. I know that that problem cant be addressed but it would be beneficial to know when WiFi wasn’t connected i.e. I am only using mobile data. This has happened on several occasions where WiFi has unknowingly become disabled. So, if the widget background could be transparent when WiFi is enabled and opaque (red) when disabled this would be a great feature and alert me to check my WiFi settings.
