V3.7.880 blocking tons by itself

F… it, I uninstalled GlassWire and reinstalled the old version (3.6.859)

If you do so, remember to block automatic version upgrades as soon as you install.

If the devs finally listen to the users, I may consider upgrading again. Otherwise, I will cancel my subscription.

What kind of logic is there to mess up something that worked? Why on earth are you blocking all programs? How do I know if I have blocked the program or if you have blocked it by default? I set it TO ASK! So why are you blocking it without asking? It blocks browsers! Different applications that work with the network. I’ll just give you a couple of pieces from the list. Adobe Premier, Adobe Acrobat, Opera, Chrome and 150 others. There is no way to delete everything at once. Just give me the money back so I can deal with this misunderstanding.

What is really sad and disturbing is the fact that there has been no further comments from the devs and no sign of caring about this issue at all.I have 3.5.821 and auto update unchecked in settings.

I have version 2.3.449 because after that, they started going south! From what I understand, Domotz partnered up with Glasswire to help better their product, but things went south after that. So, I stuck with the version before Domotz joined. I also canceled my subscription. I still have about 5 or 6 months left before it expires.

29th October:

I think patience is wearing pretty thin now.

I’ve seen that too as I have Stardock Fences and Deskscape. They certainly are pushing the new product. It’s in Beta 2 at the moment.

Hmm they have some interesting features there that might be worth considering for Glasswire

Interesting. Did the GlassWire devs defect?

Last post says Needs Approval, that’s strange as I haven’t had that happen before.

I guess they didn’t like what I posted!

I wouldn’t be renewing for sure now.

Mentions or links to certain competitor products can cause that to happen.

Just canceled my subscription, too. This behavior is not a feature. It’s a bug. And no update for months. I am forced to move on.

No information, no response from devs, website still selling defective software, complete silence from company! SHAMEFUL!

Thank goodness I found this thread - was going crazy - I was able to downgrade the version and everything is back to normal and no more random blocks.

Don’t forget to go into the config and turn off automatic updates.

I finally gave up waiting for a new version that would fix all this incredibly stupid automatic blocking and “downgraded” (I consider it an “upgrade”) as well.

No more wondering if things are being blocked because I blocked them or if GlassWire automatically blocked them, or if they will prompt me when they first try to access the network (even though they say “Blocked”.)

@Huda_GlassWire

Why there is no Update on this?

No comment at all from the devs for two months. They seem to not care at all. How hard is it to simply remove the defective version?

My post has been awaiting mod approval for 16 bloody days now. This is absurd. I’ve been a trusted member of this forum for years and I still get put into the mod queue for my posts.

I’m reposting it without the links, so people can Google them instead. I’ll prefix it with Google: and wrap the text to search in quotes.

At this point it is absolutely ridiculous.

I trust Malwarebytes - and I say that without bias, even though I’m an Expert on their team and used to talk to Marcin over MSN Messenger. They listen to customers and care, with prompt responses to address issues.

That said, I’m considering the Google: “Malwarebytes Windows Firewall Control” which is actively developed still to this day. Last update as of this post was December 5, 2025.

I to this day still miss the Agnitum Firewall Pro, it was the best firewall I’ve ever used.

Probably they don’t care to read the forum anymore, I see no other explanation. Some years ago I had considered whether to subscribe to GlassWire and I’m glad I didn’t because now it seems that GlassWire is slowly drifting towards abandonware. So at that time I choosed other alternatives: the free software you just mentioned that it’s not a true firewall but it’s a very good UI to manage the Windows Firewall, maintained and updated by a single developer (anyway also GlassWire Premium is a UI to manage the Windows Firewall, with some added features), coupled with a free 3rd party firewall that works independently from the Windows Firewall and which has the ability, amongst the others, to block telemetry and to allow / block domains too, unlike the Windows Firewall which only can allow / block IP addresses or range of IP addresses. I am very satisfied with both softwares and I never had any problem using them at the same time. I’m not a technician but in my opinion the Windows Firewall and a 3rd party firewall can coexist so there is no need to disable the Windows Firewall which is certainly not recommended, unless the 3rd party firewall requires you to disable it. I think that the problem could arise if on the system are installed two 3rd party firewalls which use their own WFP (Windows Filtering Platform) driver because this could lead to incompatibility issues and BSOD screens.
